Accessibility:

Our studio is on the first floor of an accessible building. However, if you have mobility or accessibility needs that you’d like for us to know, please contact us in advance of your workshop, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. We want you to have the best possible experience with us.

Cancellation Policy:

Everyone is welcome in the Claymates studio—no prior experience required!

We understand that plans change, and we aim to be flexible when possible. However, last-minute cancellations make it difficult to fill open seats.

  • Cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations 24 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund.
  • Same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

It’s RARE that we would need to cancel or reschedule a workshop, but if unforeseen circumstances require us to adjust a lesson time, we will notify you as soon as possible. If this happens, we’ll work with you to find a new time that fits your schedule. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility—we appreciate you being part of our creative community!

Studio Rules and Guidelines:

Pottery takes time—both in the making and in the firing. We’ll guide you through the process, but please be patient as your pieces move through the necessary stages. Safety, respect for the space and respect for others are top priorities, so we ask all guests to follow studio guidelines during their visit.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What should I wear?

Expect to get a little dirty! Clay won’t stain your clothes, but we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting covered in dust. Aprons will be provided, but we believe the best approach is to embrace the mess.

What if I want to book a private workshop for a group?

We love hosting events—whether it’s a corporate gathering, birthday party, or special occasion! Our private workshops are perfect for groups of eight or more.

How long will it take to receive my finished piece?

By the end of your 2-hour workshop, you will have crafted your piece and chosen your glaze color. We will trim, glaze and fire your work and it will be ready for pickup after 2 weeks.

What if I have never worked with clay, or with tools in a clay studio?

That is totally fine! We will provide instructions and offer demonstrations of techniques for working with clay. We will also be available to guide you through the creation of your piece. Claymates is a space of creativity and connection, not perfection nor intimidation. We can’t wait to see all the amazing work you make!
