About Us

Claymates is the dreamchild of two Kansas City-based ceramic artists, Sarah Veak of Veak Ceramics and Emily Reinhardt of The Object Enthusiast.

Emily and Sarah believe in the magic of clay, community, and creativity. With nearly three decades of combined experience refining their craft, they bring a welcoming, unfussy, and inclusive spirit to every class they teach and every piece they make.

Sarah’s journey with clay has led her across the country, apprenticing with renowned potters, firing wood kilns, and building a strong ceramic community that has deeply influenced her work, both making and teaching.

Emily has spent over a decade designing and handcrafting beautifully functional ceramics for the home including one-of-a-kind pieces. She loves sharing her expertise through teaching and collaborations.

Together, they created Claymates—a space where anyone, from first-time throwers to seasoned potters, can get their hands dirty, explore their creativity, and fall in love with their process.

Whether you're looking for a fun group experience or an individual lesson, Claymates will help you connect with clay–and with one another–in a way that feels inspiring and approachable.
